The UN's International Organization for Migration reports that deteriorating conditions in Iranian cities are causing significant displacement, with residents fleeing to northern provinces and neighboring countries. Nearly 32,000 people have crossed into Afghanistan and almost 4,000 into Pakistan amid destroyed infrastructure and overwhelmed shelters. Most border crossings, particularly to Iraq, remain closed, complicating displacement patterns.
