Taiwan Halts $800 Million in Spot LNG Buys From Papua New Guinea

Taiwan has suspended $800 million in spot LNG purchases from Papua New Guinea following the closure of Taipei’s representative office in Port Moresby, although long-term LNG supply contracts remain intact. Taiwan continues to import 1.2 million metric tons of PNG LNG annually through 2030, maintaining a significant energy trade relationship with Papua New Guinea.
