Asia’s LNG Lifeline Takes a Hit
Iranian drone strikes on Qatar's Ras Laffan Industrial City and Mesaieed Industrial City on March 2 forced QatarEnergy to completely halt LNG production and declare force majeure on exports. Asia, which imports up to 90% of Qatari and Emirati LNG, is facing severe energy supply disruptions as a result. The shutdown of the Ras Laffan LNG complex and Strait of Hormuz traffic disruption compound the crisis significantly.
