The Brazilian state of Ceará has launched construction for a new 1.2 gigawatt natural gas-fired power plant at the Pecém Complex, with a R$ 5.5 billion investment. The project includes a new port terminal to support fuel supply and create around 2,000 jobs, with operation expected by mid-2029.
