AI models predict Dubai’s record rainfall eight days ahead
A study found that some AI weather models detected signals of Dubai’s exceptional April 2024 rainfall as much as eight days before the event. The rains caused flooding, transport disruption and infrastructure damage, despite the models’ lack of comparable Dubai rainfall events in their training data.
