Chinese telecom company fined $50m for conspiring to steal technology from US firm
Chinese telecom company Hytera has been fined $50 million after pleading guilty to conspiring to steal proprietary digital mobile radio technology from Motorola Solutions. The scheme involved recruiting Motorola employees to extract trade secrets, including source code, to develop competing products at lower cost. Hytera received a five-year probation term in addition to the fine.
