UN chief says ‘diplomatic avenues are available’ to end war in Lebanon
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres visited Beirut and urged the international community to pursue diplomatic solutions to end the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon. He stressed that there is no military solution and called for full implementation of UN Charter and Security Council resolutions. Guterres noted that diplomatic avenues remain available through his special coordinator and key member states.
