A six-year-old Brazilian girl, Ana Cardoso Vassoler, has been diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), an aggressive and rare brain tumor with a life expectancy of six to twelve months. Her family is raising over R$1.3 million for an experimental CAR-T cell therapy at a pediatric hospital in Rome, Italy, after being accepted into the trial. The family is currently in São Paulo for prerequisite radiotherapy before traveling to Italy for treatment.
