Grupos de reflexão buscam reeducar homens contra a violência doméstica na Grande João Pessoa

A program by the Public Defender's Office of Paraíba (DPE-PB) is running reflexive group sessions to reeducate men charged with domestic violence in the Greater João Pessoa area. Since late 2023, about 500 men across 24 groups have participated in weekly meetings covering topics like masculinity, non-violent communication, and gender equality. The initiative complements victim protection measures under Brazil's Maria da Penha Law by addressing perpetrator behavior to prevent reoffending.
