De la Espriella to make Medellín Colombia's hub for the Trump-backed anti-drug alliance

Colombia's president-elect Abelardo de la Espriella announced Medellín will become the headquarters for the Shield of the Americas, a US-backed regional anti-drug security alliance. He plans to split his time between Medellín and Barranquilla as part of efforts to strengthen security cooperation in the region.
