'Kurds can play a significant role in a breakthrough in Iran,' Iranian Kurdish leader says
Abdullah Mohtadi, secretary-general of the Iranian Kurdish opposition Komala party, stated in a FRANCE 24 interview that Kurds can play a significant role in bringing about change in Iran. He cited serious signs of weakness among Iranian security forces in Kurdish regions and claimed tens of thousands of young people are ready to take up arms without foreign backing.
