Mozambique 2026 Flood Humanitarian Response - as of 16 March 2026 [EN/PT]
Severe flooding in southern and central Mozambique since mid-December has affected over 724,000 people, displacing more than 100,000 at the peak of the emergency. The UN and humanitarian partners have launched a $187 million flood response plan targeting approximately 600,000 affected people, with over 237,000 already receiving assistance. Critical infrastructure including health facilities and water systems has been damaged or destroyed.
