INTRODUCTION Findings from the current reporting period indicate that protection risks across the northern West Bank continue to be shaped by escalating militarized operations, movement restrictions, repeated displacement, and deepening economic deprivation, contributing to a protection environment marked by chronic insecurity and prolonged uncertainty. Communities in Tulkarm and Nablus described increasing confinement, deteriorating access to livelihoods and essential services, and heightened exposure to violence, displacement, and psychological distress. Structural pressures, including restricted movement, rising living costs, housing insecurity, and limited public service capacity, are compounding vulnerabilities and weakening households’ ability to cope. Qualitative findings further highlight disproportionate impacts on children, women, older persons, persons with disabilities, and recently displaced families. Children and adolescents were reported to face direct exposure to violence, disrupted access to education and safe spaces, and growing psychosocial distress. Women and girls face increased barriers to mobility and healthcare alongside heightened GBV risks, while young men remain particularly exposed to arrest and detention during military operations. Communities also described increasing stigmatization and exclusion of internally displaced families, coupled with growing pressure on already overstretched infrastructure and community support systems. The Protection Monitoring System (PMS), a joint initiative led by the oPt Protection Cluster, systematically collects, analyzes, and disseminates information on protection risks impacting communities across the West Bank. Through Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), the system ensures that community perspectives remain central to protection analysis. This snapshot summarizes protection risk severity scores across monitored locations, tracks key trends since monitoring began in November 2025, and highlights priority concerns raised by affected communities during the latest reporting period to inform coordinated protection response and advocacy.
